AEDM day 11: Two new paintings

A while ago I bought a group of four 45x45cm canvases, intending to make them into a series of Munich scenes. The first two are almost done (here’s the first one and the second one); today I started on the last two canvases by sketching out the basics of the scenes:

I had originally picked out a different view for the last painting, but today I made a last-minute decision to go with this instead:

I’m excited to see where I can take these.

    HI Jul
Saw your entry at AEDM – What do you use on your canvases – they look like they are glowing in the dark.
    Like the city scenes.

Nothing special – just acrylic paints of various qualities and consistencies. I start by painting the whole canvas black (I used to have black gesso I used for this, but I can’t find any of that here), and I use the paints pretty undiluted.

Maybe it’s just the sheen of light hitting the canvas – I’m not particularly good at photographing them.

I say hooray for art everyday.
