Two more

I know these aren’t the most brilliant things I’ve ever created, but they’re a whole lot of fun. This second one is a re-working of the middle painting from my last post. It just didn’t have enough personality before.

Now all ten little canvases are full, and I’m going to have to come up with something else to work on. I started a new cityscape today, plus I stretched another piece of watercolor paper so I can give gouache another go.

I’m also hoping to do something with this month’s Creative Every Day theme, which is dreams. I had the most visually stunning dream the other night, but I don’t think I could begin to do it justice if I tried to capture it. But maybe it’s worth a try.

  1. Every time I look at these I’m struck differently. This time I looked at these two and liked the blue one better – last night it was the brown one. And looking at the group of nine from your last post I can’t believe the blue one didn’t leap out at me (top center). I like the feeling of some space inside the canvas, where that face is looking, that isn’t visible to us. And I like the shading on that one particularly. And gorgeous color.

  3. Thalia – true. I think I will.

Steve – As always, thank you for your thoughtful critique and encouragement. Same for me – each time I look at these, a different one becomes my favorite.

Oscie – get working on those canvases! I almost brought you over the tape last Thursday, but then the rain made me take it out of my bag at the last minute (wet paper tape = useless). Remind me this week!
