AEDM day 14: garden tomatoes

oil on canvas, 20 x 20 cm, ©2010 Julie Galante

Thanks so much everyone who chimed in on yesterday’s painting. I really appreciate your input!

It is pretty warm here in Munich for mid-November, and a lot of my balcony garden plants are still alive. Still, it was time to pull in the rest of the tomatoes. Several of them ripened in the bowl – actually they changed colors so fast that I noticed it over the course of making this painting. And then they all went into a delicious salsa.

Loved the painting. We have just harvested the first of our tomatoes here in Australia and I enjoyed making a ratatouille with them (because tomatoes being tomatoes, there are heaps of them!)
