Open Studio planning: trying to get the invitation wording just right

What I really want to say is
come, see my art
please.

I am excited and nervous to share
it with you
so I bribe you with drinks and
hors d’œuvres

in the hope that you’ll spend a moment
looking at my paintings
and maybe
some of you
will even like them.

But most of all I hope that those of you who
don’t
keep your opinions to yourself.

More wine?

Don’t worry, this isn’t really going to be in the invitation. I haven’t gone that crazy yet.

But it’s perfect!! Really it is. I don’t think it’s crazy at all…

Best wishes for a huge turnout.

Thanks, TJ. :) I’m waffling between being worried that not enough people show up and being worried that too many people show up. Driving myself a wee bit crazy in the process.

  4. You had me at “more wine”.

@HH – Whew, I know I’ll have at least one person turn up, then.

I really like the poem. It sums up just how open studios feels. Best of luck!

@Jen – Thanks! Only a week away now. The butterflies have moved into my stomach permanently.
