Art Every Day, Day 2: Leaves

Autumn leaves original oil painting
Autumn leaves, 18 x 24 cm, oil on canvas board, Β©2011 Julie Galante. [SOLD]

Today I did something horribly cheesy: I walked around my neighborhood collecting pretty leaves. I figured they would make a nice still life subject.

November is Art Every Day Month! I’ll be posting a new small painting here each and every day.Β

  1. Thanks, guys! I’m really digging the colors of the leaves. I might have to put them in a couple more paintings before they shrivel up.

  2. Walking around picking up leaves is one of my favorite, cheesy autumn activities! The painting turned out gorgeous. I love the movement and drama. It is the perfect essence of a fall day.

  3. A beautiful piece. Not cheesy at all! We are so blessed here in Munich with the beautiful autumn colours, you can’t help but want to hang on to them (I’m planning to paint the yellow tree outside my window today).
