Day 11: tapas and wine

AEDM 1 (1)

Tapas in the afternoon, 24x18cm, oil on canvas. Available on Etsy.

I do love the colors of red wine. Must set up some still lifes with it. This little painting was inspired by a lovely, sunny lunch at Malvarosa, a tapas bar in Portobello, Edinburgh.

It’s Art Every Day Month! Towards the end of the month, these new daily paintings will be available to purchase in my Etsy shop. Check out Leah’s blog for more information about Art Every Day Month, or follow the discussion on Twitter with the #aedm2014 hashtag.

Even though I don’t drink red wine, I agree it is a beautiful and luminous colour that makes you want to paint it.

Julie, I just love your food & drink paintings! I can’t keep up with the sheer volume of AEDM participants, but I *ALWAYS* check out your piece of the day!

Thanks, Eris! So nice to hear. A couple of non-edible works are up today, but I’ll be back on the food and drink paintings soon. :)
