Art Every Day Month, day 7

beedrawing - 1

Today’s exercise was to draw an expressive bee. How did I do? I had to stop after 15 minutes or so, because I was too tempted to start adding more details and making it look more like the photograph, rather than leaving it loose and expressive. Maybe I should have pushed myself to keep going instead, to see what would happen. I have to remember that it’s ok to push these drawing exercises too far and ‘ruin’ them – it’s all part of the learning fun. Maybe I’ll come back to him tomorrow.

  1. I apologize for being so late visiting, but I haven’t been on the computer at all today. I think you did an excellent job with the bee. I only wish I could create something that beautiful, but even 15 hours wouldn’t produce anything as great as this.

Wonderful work. Personally I don’t think it needs anything adding, but I know the feeling of “just a bit more; oops……”
