CED: sketchbook pages

I’ve been trying to make this post for days… unfortunately our internet access has been too spotty to handle photo uploads. Fingers crossed that this time it works…

I’ve been sketching, collaging, and painting up a storm in my sketchbook. In the spirit of this month’s CED theme, Play, I’ve been trying new things and trying not to worry too much about the results.

I’ve also been playing around with my new camera, which has been a lot of fun. Hopefully I’ll post some of my new creations here soon (in the meantime you can check out some photos in this post).

  1. I love the face in the journal page! I want to do more drawing & playing in my journals! Saw one today that had a harp on the front (ring binder & 'vintage' print cover – would be a fun artsy journal!!

Good to see you 'back' πŸ™‚

  2. These are bizarre and wonderful! It’s fun to stretch out and just let it go. I think I’ll do some wild stuff today before I settle down to my painting. You’ve inspired me to spend some time in my moleskines, too.

Gotta go look at your photos, as well. NY must have been a blast with your new camera.

  3. Dia – I actually just finished a sketchbook that I’ve had for over 4 years. That is to say, I don’t do nearly enough of this stuff! But I’m always happy when I do. A good art journal is so much fun. πŸ™‚

Steve – have fun with the wild stuff! πŸ™‚ I have to really nudge myself to do something new and different, even just as a sketchbook page, but the results are usually worth the effort. Gets me out of my rut!
