Oktoberfest is in full swing here in Munich, and I’ve been collecting hundreds of new photos. Hopefully some of those will manage to inspire future paintings.
One thing I am loving about these dirndl studies is that, in contrast to my portraits, I am not worrying about likeness. Although I am working from specific photos, I’m not trying to paint recognizable faces. Given my slight face blindness, it’s a very relaxing exercise.
